Kevin P. O’Connor of Glen Spey, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at home. He was 55.
The son of the late Michael O’Connor and the late Patricia C. McKeever Tucker, he was born December 9, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY. Kevin served in the US Air Force as a sergeant in the military police. He was a member and usher for St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Shohola, PA. A family statement reads: “Kevin was a very talented poet who loved to write and express his feelings. He loved to spend time with his nieces, nephew and great nieces. He was a special guy who will greatly be missed.” He is survived by brothers Martin Tucker of Myrtle Beach, SC and Glenn C. Tucker of Honesdale, PA; nieces Rebecca Tucker, Katherine Tucker, Stephanie Tucker and Jesse Tucker; and nephew Andrew Tucker. Kevin is predeceased by a brother, Michael John O’Connor. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Shohola, PA. Father Thomas Major will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be in Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery. Robert A. O'Connor, 82, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at home.
The son of the late John and Katherine Costello O'Connor, he was born in Jersey City on Feb. 1, 1925. He was married to Elizabeth Meyer O'Connor on Nov. 24, 1951, in Jersey City. Mr. O'Connor was a fire captain for the Jersey City Fire Department, where he served for 30 years before his retirement and served as president of the department. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in Shohola, Pa., where he belonged to the Holy Name Society. He was president of the Lackawaxen Fire Department. His family said he was a loving husband and father and the greatest grandfather on the planet. He was predeceased by his brother, John O'Connor, and his sister, Anna O'Connor. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; five children, Robert O'Connor Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Kunkeltown, Eileen Cahill and her husband, Bob, of Andover, Terrence O'Connor and his wife, Janine, of Hampton, Erin Killeen and her husband, Charles, of Rockaway, and Elizabeth Wain and her husband, Matt, of Hummelstown. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, James O'Connor of Toms River; and one sister, June McGranahan of Florida. Thomas Major will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Shohola. Margaret Ellen O'Malley (nee McKeon), 81 of Shohola PA, formerly of West Orange passed away on Thursday January 25, 2018.
Visiting will be held on Sunday January 28, 2018 from 2 to 6 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Margaret's name to Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Margaret was born in Red Bank, raised in Newark and lived in West Orange before moving to Shohola PA 25 years ago. She was a secretary working for the Montclair Board of Education. Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Rosary Altar Society, St. Ann's Church in Shohola PA, the Women of Irish Heritage, and the Irish American Society of the Oranges. Margaret was the beloved wife of 58 years to John P. O'Malley Jr. Devoted mother of Maureen Goodacre and her husband Rob, John P. O'Malley III and his wife Marianne, Eileen Wilson and her husband Ray. Loving sister of John McKeon and his wife Geri, and Joseph McKeon and his wife Carol. Cherished grandmother of Bobby, Brian and his wife Monal, JP, Ryan, Marykate, Ellen, and Andrew. She is also survived by her sister in law Peggy Bradley and her husband Bob. Margaret is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joann H. Ortolano, 55, late of Greeley, Pa., died on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Holiday Manor Nursing Home, Scranton, Pa. She was a member of St. Ann's Church, Shohola, Pa. and the Greeley Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was born in Queens, on March 3, 1946 to Joseph and Helen (Milburne) Camastra. She and Nicholas J. Ortolano were married on September 7, 1974. Survivors include her husband; three children, Jason Ortolano, Dominique Ortolano, both of Greeley, Pa., and Corrine Helt and her husband, Andrew of Hawley, Pa.; a stepson, Nicholas Ortolano and his wife, Lee of Jacksonville, N.C.; two brothers, Joseph Camastra of Kings Park, Long Island, and Donald Camastra of Cape Coral, Fla.; one sister, Rosemarie Romano of Flushing, Queens; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, November 29, and Friday, November 30, at the Stroyan Funeral Home, Inc., 405 W. Harford St., Milford, Pa. Nicholas J. Ortolano, a retired projectionist for Local #306, New York City, late of Shohola, Pa. died on Sunday, February 2, 2003 at Wayne Woodland Manor, Waymart, Pa. He was 73 He was a member of St. Ann's Church, Shohola, Pa. He was most recently a greeter at Wal-Mart. Mr. Ortolano was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran. The son of the late Frank and Elaine Maiorino Ortolano, he was born on August 23, 1929 in Astoria, N.Y. He was married to the late Joann H. Camastra Ortolano. Survivors include two sons, Jason Ortolano of Greeley, Pa., Joseph Ortolano Jr. and his wife, Lee, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Dominique Ortolano of Greeley, Pa., and Corrine Helt and her husband, Andrew, of Hawley, Pa.; and four grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Nicholas III, and Gloria. Tara A. Owens, 52 of Milford, Pennsylvania passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2014 at home.
The daughter of the late Michael and Sonia (Michalski) McCarron she was born May 27th, 1961 in Queens, New York. Tara was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, New York where she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Survivors include two daughters Isabell and Sage Owens; two brothers Michael McCarron and Marc McCarron. Memorial Mass will be held on 27th May 2014 at Eleven o’clock, St. Ann's Church Shohola, Pennsylvania with Rev. Thomas J. Major officiating. |
