Carmen Fluhr died after a brave battle with a seven-year illness. She is survived by George J. Fluhr, her husband of 46 years.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Shohola Railroad and Historical Society. In earlier years, she was very active in the Shohola community as a member and officer of the Shohola Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Shohola PTA and the Shohola 4-H Club.
She was a loving mother who enjoyed being with and cooking for family especially for Sunday dinner and holidays. She loved music and singing in the church choir.An avid soap opera fan, she could be found every day watching the Young and the Restless on the couch with her faithful dog Taco. She is survived by three sons;Thomas, George C., his wife Laura and their daughter Makayla, Joseph , his wife Jenine and their children Jonathan,Peter, and Charlotte ; two daughters, Mary Bajda , her husband James and their children James, Evangeline, and Isabel,and Anne Cherico and her daughters Marissa and Nicole.
She is now reunited with her son, John who died in 1983.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at St. Ann’s Church, Richardson Ave., Shohola. The Rev. Thomas Major officiated. Burial took place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Shohola.
