Nicholas J. Duffy
Nicholas J. Duffy, a 13-year resident of Greeley and a former resident of Brooklyn, NY, died on February 16, 2005 at the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale following an illness. He was 77.
The son of the late Nicholas and Emily Cooke Duffy, he was born in the Bronx, NY.
A retired butcher for Morgan David Packing House in the Bronx; he was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict from 1951-1963. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Brooklyn and a member of the St. Anne’s RC Church in Shohola.
He is survived by his sisters, Theresa Belwin in Honesdale, Aileen Passanisi of NY, Kathleen Bocznienicz of Dalton, Emily Helveston of NJ and Anne Jane Shuncko of NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Rosalie Ann Fischer Duffy; a brother, Albert; and two sisters, Mary Kilbridge and Deanna Duffy.
Services were held on Monday, February 21 at the St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Thomas J. Petro, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery in Shohola Township.
Rosalie Ann Duffy
Rosalie Ann Duffy of Greeley, a manager for Met Life Insurance and a 10-year area resident, died Sunday, August 23, 1998 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. She was 68.
Daughter of the late William Fischer and Rose Hansen Fisher, she was born in Brooklyn, NY.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Greeley.
Survivors include her husband, Nicholas J. Duffy of Greeley; a sister, Gloria Fisher of Brooklyn, NY; nieces and nephews.
A mass of resurrection was offered at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Shohola. The Rev. Michael Quinnan officiated.
Burial was in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Shohola.
