John J. "Jack" Donovan
John J. "Jack" Donovan, 72, late of Lackawaxen, Pa., died at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pa. on Friday June 10, 2005. Mr. Donovan was a retired engineer for Bell Atlantic in Monticello, N.Y. He currently was a general contractor, owner and operator of Donovan & Son, Lackawaxen, Pa. He was a member of the St. Ann's Church in Shohola, Pa; Holy Name Society; and member and past Commander of Eckert Haupt VFW Post #5635 in Lackawaxen, Pa. The son of the late John J. and Mary Hosty Donovan, he was born June 9, 1933 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was married to Philomae S. (Kashuboski) Donovan on October 20, 1956 in Nanticoke, Pa. Survivors include his wife, Phil; his daughter, Denise Donovan of Forestburgh, N.Y.; two sons, Michael Donovan of Lackawaxen, Pa., and John Donovan of Shohola, Pa.; his brother, Joseph Donovan of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; and his sister, Mary Dymeck of Milford, Pa. He was predeceased by his daughter, Maureen Donovan in 1974.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church, Shohola, Pa. on Monday June 13, 2005 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, Pa. today, Sunday, June 12, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, German Hill, Shohola, Pa.
