Lucy Grassi DeFalco
Lucy DeFalco of Highland Lake, NY, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, passed away Friday, October 19, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Frank and Esther Schweitzer Grassi, she was born on February 1, 1925 in Bronx, NY.
Lucy was married to the late Daniel DeFalco.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Conway of Highland Lake; two sons, Daniel DeFalco and his wife Betty of Queens, NY and Charles DeFalco and his wife Mary of Cuddebackville, NY; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, James DeFalco.
A Mass of Resurrection was held Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at St. Ann's R.C. Church, Shohola, PA. The Rev. Thomas Major officiated. Interment took place at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Eldred, NY.
Daniel DeFalco of Highland Lake, a retired jeweler for Monroe Jewelers, Monroe and nine-year resident of the area, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. He was 78. The son of the late Aniello and Filomina Cardone DeFalco, he was born Sept. 16, 1922, in Cliffside Park, N.J. Mr. DeFalco was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during WWII. Survivors include his wife, Lucy Grassi DeFalco, at home; one daughter, Lorraine Conway of Highland Lake; three sons, Daniel DeFalco Jr. of Glendale, Charles DeFalco of Cuddebackville and James DeFalco, at home; one sister, Mary Camera of Maspeth; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis. A vigil wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, in St. Ann's R.C. Church, Shohola, Pa. The Rev. David Cramer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Eldred. Arrangements were made by Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis.
