Josephine F. Brennan
Josephine F. Brennan of Barryville, NY, a longtime resident of the area, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Twin Cedars Assisted Living Center in Shohola, PA. She was 94.
The daughter of Sidney and Josephine (O’Neil) Bailey, she was born June 3, 1914 in New York City.
She was the widow of Paul J. Brennan. Josephine was the retired postmaster of Pond Eddy, NY and the town clerk of Lumberland, NY. She was a member of the Lumberland Community Club and St. Anthony’s of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Yulan, NY.
A family statement reads: “She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.”
Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Bailey and husband Robert of Yulan; her son, Paul I. Brennan and life and soul-mate Lauren of Barryville; a brother, Sidney Bailey and wife Shirley of Highland Lake, NY; grandchildren John Traver III, Thomas Traver, Elizabeth McKean and Patrick Traver and great grandchildren Maranda Shauger, Kelsey Traver, Shauna Traver, Matthew Fredericks, Samantha Fredericks and Jason Fredericks.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and one sister, Rosemary Donahue.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann R.C. Church, Shohola, PA. Father Thomas Major will officiate.
